DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The North Florida basketball team tips concludes its current five-game road stretch Tuesday as the Ospreys visit in-state foe Bethune-Cookman in a 7 p.m. tip at Moore Gym.
The Ospreys (1-4) look to get back on the winning track after dropping their last four including a hard fought 75-67 decision at Florida State last Wednesday night. The Wildcats (2-4) have lost two of their last three but will be making their 2012-13 home debut.
The game marks just the second all-time meeting between UNF and BCU with the Ospreys earning a 61-56 victory last year at UNF Arena. In the first meeting, Parker Smith scored 15 points to lead UNF while Andy Diaz narrowly missed a double-double finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Smith, who leads the Ospreys in scoring this season at 16.0 points per game, has connected on 21 three-pointers this season and is averaging 4.2 treys per game. Travis Wallace tops the squad in rebounding with 3.8 per contest and is second in scoring at 10.0 points per game and has reached double digits in each of the last two contests. Freshman Beau Beech has also tallied double figures in two straight for the Ospreys.
Adrian Coleman leads the BCU attack averaging 17.2 points and 7.3 rebounds a game.
