
Women's Golf Finishes 6th at Courtyard Classic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's golf team earned a sixth-place finish Tuesday after carding a final round 310 at the Courtyard Classic hosted by Jacksonville at Hidden Hills Country Club.
The Ospreys finished the 54-hole contest with a total of 923. The event concluded a stretch of five consecutive days of competition for UNF.
Freshman Tess Huber led the way for North Florida earning a sixth-place finish with a three-round score of 222 including a final round 74 (+2) on Tuesday. Freshmen Mary Rodgers and Kelly Aylwin joined Huber in the Top 20 earning ties for 19th with matching tallies of 232.
Julia McQuilken, another UNF freshman, finished tied for 31st with a score of 239 and junior Kelly Miller tied for 36th at 241 to round out the Osprey lineup. Additionally, freshmen Belinda George and Victoria Pitenis competed as individuals finishing tied for 42nd (246) and tied for 44th (247), respectively.
Troy University fired a final round low 293 to surge atop the leaderboard in the team competition finishing with a championship best 898. Daytona State finished second at 910 followed by South Alabama (911), Florida Gulf Coast (912), Jacksonville (919), North Florida, Seminole State (935), South Dakota State (977), Florida Atlantic (978) and Northern Kentucky (996).
North Florida will enjoy a brief break from competition before returning to action Oct. 26-28 at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C.
