Women's Golf Finish 5th at LPGA Xavier Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's golf team carded their best round of the weekend en route to finishing tied for fifth Sunday at the LPGA Xavier Invitational.
The Ospreys posted a final round 312 finishing with a three-day total of 945. Freshman Tess Huber was the squad's top performer earning a ninth-place finish with a score of 231 including her final day 76.
Fellow freshman Mary Rodgers had the team's low round of the day on Sunday firing a two-over par 74 and finishing tied for 17th at 235. The remainder of the Osprey lineup included freshman Kelly Aylwin tied for 25th (238), junior Kelly Miller tied for 30th (241) and freshman Julia McQuilken tied for 42nd at 246.
Old Dominion posted the tournament's low round Sunday moving past Florida Gulf Coast to claim the team championship with a score of 924. FGCU was second at 930 followed by Mercer (939), Xavier (943), North Florida and Daytona State (945), Stetson and McNeese State (946), Bethune-Cookman (951), Louisiana Monroe (955), UAB (984), South Dakota State (1011), North Dakota (1039) and Northern Kentucky (1048).
Mercer's Lacy Fears earned the individual medalist title with a 54-hole total of 224.
North Florida continues its busy schedule opening play at the JU Courtyard Classic with 36 holes of action Monday at Hidden Hills Country Club.
