
Osprey Women's Golf in Sixth at Courtyard Classic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Playing for their fourth consecutive day, the University of North Florida women's golf team is in sixth place after completing 36 holes of action Monday on the opening day of play at the Courtyard Classic held at Hidden Hills Country Club.
The Ospreys shot a 305 over the first 18 holes of play ending the round tied for second before tallying a second round 308 during the afternoon session to finish with a 613 total. Freshman Tess Huber ended the day in seventh place after rounds of 72-76=148.
Fellow freshman Kelly Aylwin joined Huber in the Top 20 earning a tie for 12th with rounds of 74-77=151. The remainder of UNF's lineup included freshman Mary Rodgers tied for 21st at 155 (77-78), freshman Julia McQuilken tied for 32nd at 159 (82-77) and junior Kelly Miller at 162 (82-80).
In addition, a pair of Osprey freshmen competed in the event as individuals with Belinda George sitting in a tie for 24th at 156 (78-78) and Victoria Pitenis tied for 34th at 160 (85-75).
Tournament host Jacksonville shot a two-round 603 to seize the lead in the team competition by one stroke over Daytona State and Florida Gulf Coast. Troy is in fourth at 605 followed by South Alabama (609), North Florida, Seminole State (621), South Dakota State (653), Florida Atlantic (653) and Northern Kentucky (657).
North Florida concludes its marathon five-day stretch of golf Tuesday with final round action of the Courtyard Classic.
