
Nixon, Post Grab Weekly Conference Awards

MACON, Ga. -- Senior Erin Nixon and junior James Post of the University of North Florida track and field teams were both named Atlantic Sun Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Nixon earned the honor after taking first place in the 3000m at Sunday's Gator Invite at the University of Florida. Her time of 9:52.96 is the second-fastest in the A-Sun this year by almost eight seconds. She has now won both of the events she has entered in the 2012 season. This is Nixon's first career Indoor Track POW Award.
Post garnered his second career weekly conference honor after finishing first in the 800m at the Gator Invitational. It was his second consecutive meet with at least one win, and his time of 1:53.65 ranks as the fastest 800m in the A-Sun this season.
The UNF track and field team are next in action on Saturday, when they travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. to compete in the Embry-Riddle Challenge.
