Basketball Closes A-Sun First Half at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. – The North Florida basketball team continues its current four-game road stretch with a game Monday against Kennesaw State at 7 p.m. in the KSU Convocation Center.
The game pits a pair of teams in need of a win as the Ospreys (9-12, 3-5 Atlantic Sun) have lost four straight and Kennesaw State (3-17, 0-8) has dropped 15 of last 16 including a current eight game slide. The game also marks the completion of the first half of the Atlantic Sun round-robin schedule.
Monday's game marks the 29th all-time meeting between UNF and KSU on the hardwood. The Owls own a 16-12 advantage in the series, but the Ospreys have won four straight including victories in their last two visits to the Convocation Center. The last time the pair met, UNF outlasted KSU, 90-88, in a triple-overtime thriller at UNF Arena.
Travis Wallace, UNF's leading rebounder at 5.4 boards per game, is coming off a career best 20-point performance at Mercer. Wallace (10.7 ppg), who has tallied double digits in six straight contests, is one of three Ospreys averaging double figures this season along with Parker Smith (11.9 ppg) and Jerron Granberry (10.5 ppg). Andy Diaz is just out of double figures at 9.8 points a game.
Kennesaw State features one of the Atlantic Sun's most potent offensive duos as Markeith Cummings (15.7 ppg) and Spencer Dixon (13.3 ppg) account for 29 of Owls' 60 points per contest.
