Baseball Concludes Home Slate with Kennesaw State

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida baseball team returns to action over the weekend with a pivotal three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series against rival Kennesaw State at Dusty Rhodes Field at Harmon Stadium. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Senior Day is scheduled for Sunday and the seniors will be honored before the game.
The games will be available via live stats. In addition, all three games will be aired live on WHJX-FM (105.7 Jacksonville). Fans can also see the games on ASun.TV.
North Florida enters the weekend with a 25-22 overall record and a 13-14 mark in the Atlantic Sun, while Kennesaw State is 27-21 with a 13-10 record in the A-Sun.
UNF leads the all-time series between the two schools, holding a slim 32-28 (.533) series advantage. The Ospreys are 19-13 (.594) all-time against the Owls at Harmon Stadium.
The first meeting between the two schools took place in 1988 as the Ospreys defeated the Owls two games to one at the NAIA District 25 Tournament in Kennesaw, Ga.
Last season in Kennesaw, KSU won the series by defeating North Florida in a doubleheader on Apr. 17, winning 3-2 and 12-8. The Ospreys won the final game of the series, 8-7, on “Dusty Rhodes Day.”
The last time the two teams met in Jacksonville was in 2009 with the Owls claiming the series, 2-1. KSU won the first game 6-5 in 11 innings before claiming the series with an 8-3 victory. The Ospreys won the final game of the series 7-4.

In addition, there are seven seniors who will be playing their final home games at Harmon Stadium – George Lott, Robbie Collier, Kyle Dahl, Andrew Hannon, Sam Perry, Casey Medlen and Michael Smith.
Scouting the Opposition:
Kennesaw State enters the weekend in fourth place in the A-Sun. The Owls are tied with the Ospreys in the win column, but have played one less series than North Florida. UNF is currently in seventh place with only six teams advancing to the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.
