Game Notes
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The North Florida basketball team closes its three-game road swing Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Florida A&M at the Al Lawson Center.
The Ospreys (5-7) is in search of its first road win of the year and looks to end a three-game losing skid following a tough loss Monday night at Viriginia Tech. FAMU (2-10) is also in the midst of a three-game skid after dropping a game Monday at Auburn.
Wednesday's game marks the third all-time meeting between UNF and FAMU on the hardwood. The Rattlers have won each of the first two meetings with the last matchup coming in Tallahassee on Dec. 15, 2007. In that game, current UNF assistant coach Byron Taylor scored seven points and had four assists as a member of the FAMU team.
At 10.5 points per game, Parker Smith leads the Ospreys in scoring followed by Jerron Granberry (10.1 ppg) as the only other double-digit scorer. Travis Wallace, who began his collegiate career at FAMU, tops the squad in rebounding with 5.3 boards a contest. Wallace has recorded back-to-back 13 point performances. Against VT, senior Matt Sauey finished with a season best 11 points and six rebounds.
