JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The University of North Florida women's soccer team wraps up their regular season on Friday as they take on Jacksonville in the SunTrust River City Rumble, a crucial conference match for both teams.
Last weekend, the Ospreys clinched their spot in the Atlantic Sun Tournament as they notched a 0-0 draw against Belmont on Friday evening before cruising to a 4-0 victory over Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon.
Despite outshooting the Bruins 18-5, the Ospreys settled for a scoreless draw against Belmont on Friday. UNF did not concede a shot on goal on the evening. Freshman forward Kathryn Shafer paced the Osprey offense on the evening, accumulating four shots.
UNF then used four goals from four different players to earn a 4-0 victory over Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore forward Carolina Lencina, junior midfielder Kathryne Husted, junior forward Michele Larrinaga and senior Denisse Soltero all found the back of the net for UNF.
With the fourth seed and home-field advantage in the first round of the A-Sun Tournament still up for grabs, the Ospreys will visit Jacksonville on Friday afternoon. The Dolphins, currently 10-5-2 on the season and 6-1-1 in conference games, sit in second place in the Atlantic Sun standings and have won five of their previous six matches, including home victories over Lipscomb and Belmont last weekend.
Jacksonville holds a 6-3 advantage over UNF in the all-time series between the schools. The Dolphins have also won the last three meetings, including a 3-2 overtime victory last year at Hodges Stadium.
The game, held at Ashley Sports Complex on Jacksonville's campus, will kick off at 7 p.m. Live stats and streaming will be available.
