
Findley Strikesout 14 in UNF's First Win

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior Devyn Findley helped the University of North Florida softball team to its first win of the 2010 season with her 14 strikeouts to seal UNF's win over Providence (W, 4-0), but the Ospreys would falter later to North Carolina State (L, 0-7) in the Combat Classic.
After two solid performacnes to start the season, senior Devyn Findley (1-2) was definitely in the zone to return on Saturday against Providence.

Not only did Findley come prepared physically and mentally for the pitching circle but while at the plate she went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
UNF scored runs in four separtate innings. The four innings the Ospreys scored their runs, UNF's leadoff hitters were able to get on base and create opportunities for the batters to bunt and move runners. Sophomore Britanie Block, freshman Molly Grubb and senior Kara Rutenbar were able to lead off the innings with walks and eventually make their way in to score.
After the Ospreys win, North Florida had to wait a hour and a half, before its next game. The second game for the Ospreys started at 10:30 p.m. and would not finish until close to 1 a.m.
Unlike in the first game, the opportunities were not there for the Ospreys, as UNF was limited to just four base hits on the night.
North Florida will finish up the tournament tomorrow Feb. 14, at 3 p.m., when the Ospreys take on FIU and get set UNF's home opener on Tuesday, Feb 16, at UNF Softball Complex in
