
UNF Set for Trip to Gainesville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's basketball team will make the trip to Gainesville, Fla. on Tuesday, Nov. 23 to face the Gators in a 4:30 p.m. tip-off at the O'Connell Center.
UNF (1-2) is coming off a 63-61 win over Florida Atlantic. Junior Brittany Kirkland tallied 23 points in the game while freshman Raneisha Lamar grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Kirkland leads the team on the season, averaging 15.0 points per game while dishing out a team-best 2.33 assists per game. Senior Juliemay Syquio is adding 8.7 points per game and sophomore Larkira Jones is tallying 5.7 points per game and pulling down a team-leading 6.0 rebounds per game.
The Gators (2-1) are led by Jordan Jones and Azania Stewart. Jones is averaging 12.0 points per game. Stewart is averaging 10.7 points and a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game. Lanita Bartley is dishing out 3.7 assists per game while tallying 3.0 steals per game.
UF fell to DePaul, 74-73 in its last outing in the semifinals of the preseason WNIT.
This is just the second meeting between the two teams. Florida won the first game, 78-37 in 2006 in the season opener for both teams. UNF was in the middle of its transition to full NCAA Division I status.
