
Volleyball to Host Georgia Southern

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida volleyball team will host Georgia Southern in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at UNF Arena.
Leading the Ospreys (5-20, 2-6 Atlantic Sun) is Paige Pridgeon with 3.79 kills per set. Jessica Catelano and Dagnija Medina are adding 2.25 and 1.80 kills per set, respectively. Britt Claessens is tallying 8.58 assists per set. On the defensive side, Nicole Baran is putting up 4.09 digs per set and Medina has tallied a team-high 76 blocks this season.
Over the weekend, the Ospreys were on the road for a pair of conference matches in Nashville, Tenn. UNF fell to both Lipscomb and Belmont, 3-0.
The Eagles (20-7, 11-1 SoCon) are led by Bethany Sanford with 3.44 kills per set. Parker Small is adding 2.97 while Hannah Nelson is posting 2.30 per set. Kate Van Dyke is tallying 10.61 assists per set. Defensively, Ashley Roe is notching 4.09 digs per set and Small has a team best 93 blocks this season.
Georgia Southern has won its past eight matches, most recently defeating Wofford, 3-0.
GSU holds the 2-1 advantage over the Ospreys in the all-time series. Last season, the Eagles picked up a 3-0 win in Statesboro, Ga. Pridgeon averaged 4.33 kills per set in the match and Baran notched 3.67 digs per set.
Following Tuesday's match, the Ospreys will remain at home for their final two regular season matches, beginning with Campbell on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. followed by crosstown rival Jacksonville on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
