
Ospreys to Host Seattle

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida volleyball team will host Seattle on Thursday, Oct. 21 in a non-conference match at 7 p.m. in UNF Arena.
UNF (5-17) is coming off a hard fought 3-2 (25-21,18-25, 25-17, 19-25, 8-15) loss against crosstown rival Jacksonville on Tuesday night. Leading the Ospreys is sophomore Paige Pridgeon with 3.83 kills per set. Pridgeon is also second on the team in digs with 2.79 per set. Senior Jessica Catelano is adding 2.35 kills per set while freshman Anna Budinska is notching 1.9 kills.
Freshman setter Britt Claessens is tallying 8.8 assists per set. On the defensive side, Nicole Baran is racking up 4.11 digs per set while Dagnija Medina has tallied 67 blocks this season.
Seattle (10-12) split last weekend falling to San Diego State, 3-0 before defeating Montana State, 3-0. The Redhawks are led by Cristin Richards with 4.26 kills per set. Janet Beckerman and Sarah Jaeckel are adding 2.29 and 2.70 kills, respectively. Jamie Mellies is notching 10.24 assists per set. Emily Deleissegues is posting 3.36 digs per set.
UNF and Seattle have met one other time with the Redhawks winning 3-0 (16-25, 23-25, 22-25) in 2008 in Jacksonville. Senior Marshay Greenlee had five kills and four blocks in that match.
Following Thursday's match, the Ospreys will have a week off before returning to the court on the road in Nashville, Tenn. to face Atlantic Sun foes Lipscomb (Oct. 29) and Belmont (Oct. 30).
