
North Florida to Face Crosstown Rival JU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida Volleyball team will make the short trip across town to face Atlantic Sun rival Jacksonville University on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium.
Leading the Ospreys (4-5, 0-2 A-Sun) is junior middle blocker Kaley Read with 3.97 kills per set. Junior outside hitter, Danielle Lerch is adding 2.12 kills per set. Junior setter Jessica Catelano is putting up 8.77 assists per set while freshman outside hitter Paige Pridgeon is posting 2.37 digs per set.
For the Dolphins (3-5, 0-2 A-Sun) Aidan Yeager is leading the team with 3.26 kills per set while Brooke Singleton is averaging 2.37 kills. Ashley August and Hannah Munneke are averaging 5.07 and 4.50 assists per set, respectively. On the defensive side Shelley Walroth is averaging 5.41 digs per set.
This is the 15th meeting between the two teams with UNF holding the 8-6 advantage in the series. Last season the two teams split with each winning on their respective home courts. Both scores were 3-1.
Wednesday's meeting will also mark the first contest in the 2009-10 SunTrust River City Rumble between the two teams. UNF and JU will compete in every sport offered by both schools throughout the season. A winner is determined by which school wins the most out of the 20 events played during the season.
