UNF looks to defend title

The University of North Florida golf team will try to become the first team since 2003 to defend the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship when it takes on a field of 10 other conference opponents at the 2009 Atlantic Sun Championship.

The Ospreys captured last year's title by one stroke, outlasting defending champion East Tennessee State. If the Ospreys expect a return trip to an NCAA Regional they will have to pull off a win in Buies Creek, N.C.

The 6,703-yard layout of the Creek Course at Keith Hills Country Club plays host to this year's event. The field of 11 teams will get the tournament started Monday morning.
