Two-year deal will have WBOB air men's basketball and baseball games
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida Department of Athletics and WBOB announced today that WBOB will be the exclusive radio broadcasting partner for men's basketball and baseball for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons.
“WBOB is pleased that we are partnering with the University of North Florida Athletics Department for the next two years,” said Henry Hoot, WBOB Regional Vice-President. “We are looking forward to two more great seasons of basketball and baseball with the Ospreys.”
The games will air on 1320 AM and 103.7 FM. The agreement is a renewal of a previous two-year partnership. WBOB will air all regular season and postseason games for men's basketball and at least 20 baseball games. The full basketball schedule can be found at UNFOspreys.com.
“We are extremely excited to renew our partnership with WBOB,” said Lee Moon, North Florida Director of Athletics. “The excitement for UNF athletics is at an all-time high and we are glad that WBOB is an integral part of our growth.”
John Laurence, the “Voice of the Ospreys” since the inception of UNF basketball in 1992, will return to the sidelines for another season. Mike Ridaught will also call a number of games this season. Ridaught, a UNF graduate, has over 18 years of radio experience, including a six-year stint doing Osprey baseball.
