
Volleyball to Host a Pair of Atlantic Sun Contests

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida volleyball team will host Campbell University on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. in UNF Arena. On Saturday, Oct. 10, the Ospreys will face East Tennessee State at 3 p.m.
Junior middle blocker Kaley Read is leading the Ospreys (7-10, 2-6 A-Sun), averaging 3.94 kills per set. Junior outside hitter Danielle Lerch is adding 2.94 kills per set while freshman outside hitter Paige Pridgeon is posting 2.75 kills and a team-leading 2.38 digs per set. Junior setter Jessica Catelano is tallying 9.30 assists per set and freshman libero Nicole Baran is averaging 2.18 digs per set on the defensive side.
For the Camels (11-7, 5-3 A-Sun), Emily Werner is leading with 2.69 kills per set and Ashley Weers is adding 2.59 kills. Hope Leatigaga is tallying 7.89 assists per set while Sarah Hill is notching 3.5 digs for the defense.
UNF holds the all-time series advantage, 3-2. Last season the two teams split with each winning on their opponent's home court. The Ospreys won 3-1 (25-21, 27-25, 21-25, 26-24) in Buies Creek, N.C. while the Camels picked up the 3-2 (15-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-11) win in UNF Arena. Read averaged 3.89 kills against the Camels last season while senior outside hitter Agata Dawidowicz added 2.33 kills.
The Bucs (6-10, 5-3 A-Sun) are being led by Erin Ryan with 2.48 kills per set. Whitney Cogburn is adding 2.44 kills. Amanda Youell is averaging 9.32 assists per set and on the defensive side Jen Neice is putting up 3.0 digs.
ETSU has the 4-2 all-time series advantage over UNF. During the 2008 season the Bucs and the Ospreys split with each team winning on their respective home courts. The Ospreys won 3-2 (25-17, 25-20, 19-25, 22-25, 15-11) at home while the Bucs picked up the 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 26-24) win in Johnson City, Tenn. Dawidowicz led the Ospreys against the Bucs last season, averaging 3.75 kills per set. Read added 2.75 kills.
Single-game tickets for volleyball matches are $5 for adults and $3 for youth 17-and-under and senior citizens 55-and-older. Children 2-and-under and any current UNF student with a valid Osprey1 Card are admitted free. Student guest passes for those events are $3 and limited to one per student.
