
Volleyball Travels to Georgia Southern for Non-Conference Match

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida volleyball team will travel to Statesboro, Ga. for a Tuesday, Oct. 6, non-conference contest against Georgia Southern University. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Hanner Fieldhouse.
UNF (7-9, 2-6 Atlantic Sun) is led by junior middle blocker Kaley Read and junior outside hitter Danielle Lerch. Read is averaging 4.02 kills per set while tallying 2.35 digs. Lerch is adding 3.06 kills per set while freshman outside hitter Paige Pridgeon is posting 2.67 kills and 2.40 digs per set. Junior setter Jessica Catelano is averaging 9.36 assists per set while sophomore setter Julie Fye is racking up 5.09 per set.
The Eagles (11-6, 2-1 Southern) are led by Bethany Sanford with 3.69 kills per set. Lauren Claybaugh is adding 2.28 kills while Parker Small is posting 2.27 kills. Kate Van Dyke is averaging 10.42 assists per set. On the defensive side, Cristin Haines is averaging 3.45 digs per set.
UNF and GSU are tied in the all-time series at 1-1. The two teams last met in 2007 for the season opener. GSU picked up the 3-0 win in that match.
