
Ospreys to Host Belmont and Lipscomb

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida volleyball team will host Atlantic Sun foe Belmont on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 31 the Ospreys will face league leading Lipscomb at 3 p.m. in UNF Arena.
UNF (10-14, 4-10 A-Sun) is coming off a six day break after playing USC Upstate in its last outing. Leading the Ospreys is junior middle blocker Kaley Read with 3.95 kills per set. Junior outside hitter Danielle Lerch is adding 2.86 kills while freshman outside hitter Paige Pridgeon is tallying 2.84 kills per set while notching a team-best 2.60 digs per set. Junior setter Jessica Catelano is averaging 9.16 assists per set and freshman libero Nicole Baran is posting 2.54 digs per set.
Belmont (12-13, 8-7 A-Sun) has lost four of its past five. The Bruins are being led by Maggie Johnson with 3.55 kills per set. Carly Frazier is adding 2.61 kills while Jenny Gray is tallying 2.07 kills per set. Channing Salava is tossing up 9.89 assists per set and Megan Clements is notching 4.94 digs on the defensive side.
The Ospreys fell to the Bruins, 3-1 (20-25, 20-25, 25-20, 8-25) in their first meeting this season. Read and Frazier each had 11 kills in the match to lead their respective teams. Belmont leads the all-time series at 5-1.
Lipscomb (20-3, 15-0 A-Sun) is leading the Atlantic Sun and is currently undefeated in league play. Alex Kelly is averaging 4.51 kills per set and leading the team with 3.55 digs per set. Meghan Hinemeyer is adding 3.39 kills while Kaycee Green is posting 2.86 kills. Jake Pease leads with 11.88 assists per set while Katie Rose is notching 3.35 digs per set.
The Bison picked up the 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-14) win earlier this season in Nashville. Pridgeon had seven kills in the match for the Ospreys while Hinemeyer and Kelly had 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Lipscomb leads the series at 4-2.
Single-game tickets for volleyball matches are $5 for adults and $3 for youth 17-and-under and senior citizens 55-and-older. Children 2-and-under and any current UNF student with a valid Osprey1 Card are admitted free. Student guest passes for those events are $3 and limited to one per student.
