Volleyball to Host Bethune-Cookman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida volleyball team will host Bethune-Cookman in an out-of-conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at UNF Arena.

UNF is coming off a 3-0 win over Stetson in its last outing. The Ospreys (9-13, 4-9 A-Sun) are led by junior middle blocker Kaley Read with 3.80 kills per set. Freshman outside hitter Paige Pridgeon is tallying 2.87 kills per set along with a team-high 2.51 digs per set. Junior outside hitter Danielle Lerch is adding 2.86 kills per set. Junior setter Jessica Catelano is notching 9.55 assists per set while freshman libero Nicole Baran is posting 2.50 digs per set on the defensive side.

The Wildcats (7-10, 2-0 MEAC) are led by Chelle Ticeson with 2.91 kills per set. Jessica Wilson is adding 2.60 kills per set. Wilson also leads the team in digs with 2.17 per set. Daryl Rodriguez and Julie Gibson are posting 6.81 and 5.17 assists per set, respectively.

UNF and BCC met earlier in the season at the UCF Fall Invitational. The Ospreys defeated the Wildcats 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-22). Lerch had 12 kills for UNF. Sophomore setter/defensive specialist Julie Fye tallied 27 assists and 11 digs. Ticeson had 9 kills for the Wildcats. North Florida leads the all-time series 8-1.

Single-game tickets for volleyball matches are $5 for adults and $3 for youth 17-and-under and senior citizens 55-and-older. Children 2-and-under and any current UNF student with a valid Osprey1 Card are admitted free. Student guest passes for those events are $3 and limited to one per student.
