The University of North Florida men's basketball team heads into its contest against Kennesaw State on Friday night looking for its first win in Atlantic Sun Conference play and its second win in its last two home outings.
UNF (2-12, 0-4 A-Sun) has had to endure a tough stretch as of late, taking on Miami to close out the 2008 calendar year before ending a two-game road trip at A-Sun leader East Tennessee State.
The Ospreys and Kennesaw State (5-7, 1-2 A-Sun) are no strangers to each other. Both teams made the jump to the NCAA Division I level four years ago from the Peach Belt Conference, bringing their rivalry on the floor with them to the A-Sun. UNF won six of the first 11 meetings with the Owls and four of five from 2000-02. Kennesaw State has managed to gain the upper hand lately in the series with wins in the last four contests.
Both teams are looking for a win Friday night that would stop their current skids. UNF comes into the contest with four losses in a row, while the Owls have lost their last five.
