The Ospreys prepare for next week's meet
The Ospreys head off next week to the Jimmy Carnes Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., the final meet of the indoor track season before the Atlantic Sun Indoor Championships. If the Clemson Invitational was an indication of the teams' starting point for the season, the Ospreys will be doing well entering the home stretch of the season. This week, thrower Ashton McGuire goes off to represent the Ospreys at a special throwers-only meet in Clermont.
Notables
A recent poll by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association shows that the Ospreys compete against some of the best in the nation … top three in the men's poll are Arkansas, Arizona and Florida … regular UNF competition Florida State (6th) and South Carolina (14th) also made the poll … on the women's side, the poll is led by Texas A & M, Tennessee and Michigan … regular UNF competitors FSU (5th), South Carolina (12th) and Miami (24th) are also in the poll.
