Along with bragging rights and a point in the SunTrust River City Rumble standings, early positioning in Atlantic Sun Conference play will be on the line. UNF (3-13, 1-5 A-Sun) will look to move up the conference rankings with a win, while the Dolphins (6-8, 5-1 A-Sun) will look to avoid falling out of a tie for first place.
Rivalry games are always expected to be tight matchups, and that's just the way UNF and JU have played them with the last four games being decided by an average of eight points. UNF took the Dolphins to overtime on their home court in the last meeting between the teams last season but could not pull out the win, falling 76-70.

Fans that are in attendance at Thursday's game are encouraged to wear blue to “Blue Out” the Dolphins. They are also encouraged to bring their old shoes to the game to donate to Samaritan's Feet, a humanitarian relief organization that donates shoes to children all over the world. In honor of this cause, UNF head coach Matt Kilcullen will coach Thursday's game without shoes.
