
UNF faces old rival in A-Sun showdown

Ospreys have shot to move into second place
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida baseball team will take on long-time rival Kennesaw State this weekend in a crucial three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series in Kennesaw, Ga.
The series will start with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and will conclude with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. UNF is currently is fourth place in the A-Sun, while the Owls are in third, and both teams have a shot at moving into second place in the conference. KSU swept UNF last season in Kennesaw.
The Ospreys are coming off two tough defeats to No. 2 North Carolina on Tuesday and Wednesday. Senior Travis Martin tallied three RBIs and a home run against the Tar Heels. UNF won two of three in their last conference series last weekend against cross-town rival Jacksonville to clinch the SunTrust River City Rumble. The Ospreys have won six of their last eight conference games.
Kennesaw lost two of three last weekend to Gardner-Webb. The Owls won the first game of the series and captured second place in the A-Sun, but it was short-lived, as GWU took the next two in the series. Ric Bishop leads KSU with 41 RBIs and seven home runs. The Owls have the second-best ERA in the A-Sun with a 4.84 clip.
