Box Score
JACKSOVILLE,
The FGCU (18-8, 13-3 A-Sun) win avenged an earlier loss to UNF (13-16, 8-8 A-Sun) and gave UNF a .500 finish in the league this season.
For the second-straight game UNF did not have a player in double-digit scoring figures. Juliemay Syquio led UNF with nine points to go along with six rebounds. Shennette Sheffield and Shandrea Moore followed her with seven points.
Chelsea Dermyer led all players with 17 points, while her teammate Delia De La Torre finished the game with a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
UNF never led in the game, digging itself a first half hole after hitting only 6-of-25 shots from the field in the half. The Eagles went on to lead 38-17 at the half.
UNF scored the opening point of the second half on a pair of Shennette Sheffield free throws, but never could cut deep enough into the Eagles' double-digit advantage. The Lady Ospreys never came closer than 20 points in the second half.
The Lady Ospreys won the battle of the boards 47-32 with Jennifer Guldager pulling down nine rebounds to lead the squad.
UNF turned the ball over 21 times, compared to four FGCU turnovers.
Both the Eagles and UNF are ineligible for postseason play due to NCAA transfer rules and will not hit the court again until the 2008-09 season begins.
