UNF plays at Florida Atlantic on Tuesday night
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Dec. 17, 2007) - The University of North Florida men's basketball team will continue its five-game trek to end the 2007 calendar year when it begins a trip through south Florida on Tuesday night.
The Ospreys will face Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton on Tuesday before travelling a short distance down I- 75 to take on the undefeated Miami Hurricanes on Thursday night. After a short break for the Christmas holiday, the Ospreys will then play at IPFW in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Dec. 29 before facing Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., on Dec. 31 to cap the extended road trip.
UNF (1-7) dropped a 61-57 game at Florida A&M on Saturday afternoon to open the road swing, shooting a season-high 49 percent but failing to capitalize late on opportunities in falling to the Rattlers after a seven-day layoff for final exams. The Ospreys also outrebounded FAMU, 35-28, but committed 21 turnovers to stave off earning their first road win of the season.
The Ospreys will play their second straight game without freshman shooting guard Brent Wood, who has left the team indefinitely to attend to personal matters at home in Fort Myers, Fla.
