UNF closes out season this week

Ospreys to take on FAMU, JU
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida women's volleyball team will close out the 2007 season this week with a non-conference match against Florida A&M on Tuesday before taking on cross-town rival Jacksonville on Thursday at UNF Arena in the SunTrust River City Rumble.
The Ospreys (4-24, 1-10 Atlantic Sun Conference) begin their match at 6 p.m. against FAMU in Tallahassee. The Rattlers defeated UNF 3-0 (30-27, 30-14, 30-22) in Jacksonville on Oct. 17. Both seniors Maegan Weisert and Claire Yonutas recorded a double-double in the loss. FAMU (12-6, 6-0 MEAC) is coming off a 3-0 loss (21-30, 20-30, 20-30) to No. 3 Texas last Friday.
Jacksonville will come to UNF Arena for a 7 p.m. showdown on Thursday in the second match this season of the SunTrust River City Rumble. The Dolphins came from behind to beat the Ospreys 3-2 (22-30, 30-25, 30-24, 24-30, 11-15) on Oct. 26 at JU's Swisher Gymnasium. Both freshman Kaley Read and Yonutas blasted 16 kills, while junior Bary Rasmussen had 15.

Making An Impact: Senior Maegan Weisert put together her best week of the year last week in matches against Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson. She notched 40 kills for an average of 5.0 per game to go along with 27 digs. Weisert recorded double-doubles in both matches and had a season-high 26 kills against Stetson on Saturday.
Notables: UNF's 70 kills against Stetson were the most this season in a loss ... the Ospreys' 62 assists were the second-most recorded this season ... freshman Kaley Read is hitting .295 over the last three matches ... UNF's eight blocks against Stetson was its most since Oct. 13 against Belmont ... UNF's last two matches caps an eight-match stretch in which the Ospreys have played an in-state team ... the Ospreys are averaging two aces per game against in-state foes this year.
