UNF takes on Jacksonville in final conference game
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In its most highly anticipated game of the season, the University of North Florida women's soccer team prepares to take on cross-town rival Jacksonville on Wednesday. The two teams will face off as part of the 2007-08 River City Rumble, with the winner earning a point for the SunTrust Old Wooden Barrel.
UNF (6-11-1, 5-5 A-Sun) heads into the game after suffering two tough losses at home over the weekend, dropping it into sixth place in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Lady Ospreys dropped a heartbreaker to Lipscomb on Friday, falling 2-1 after Elizabeth Gowan gave the team the lead in the 20th minute of action. Sunday's game against Belmont saw UNF unable to capitalize on its chances, as it fell 2-0 after the Bruins scored two second half goals.
Jacksonville comes into the game on cloud nine after clinching a spot in the A-Sun Conference Tournament last weekend. The Dolphins tied Belmont on Friday night, with both teams playing to a 0-0 draw after two overtime periods. Jacksonville had its hands full on Sunday as they battled Lipscomb, with neither team wanting to leave without a win. Jacksonville prevailed, defeating the Bisons 3-2.

Quotable:
Head Coach Linda Hamilton on bouncing back from two tough losses: "It is always hard when you lose, especially when you lose at home. We had several good chances in both games but were unfortunate and came up short. We are trying not to focus on the losses too much but instead on the things that we did well."
Hamilton on Jacksonville: "They are a tough team. We have been tied with them in the conference standings for the majority of the season, so it should be an interesting matchup. It is always fun when you get to play a rivalry game."
Hamilton on the last conference game: "Our goal is to come out of conference with a winning record, and we have a very good chance at doing that. This conference is funny sometimes because you can never let down. Every team has the potential to come out on top in every game."Hamilton on the last conference game: "Our goal is to come out of conference with a winning record, and we have a very good chance at doing that.
