Young pitched collegiately at Purdue and Arizona, spinning 173 strikeouts between her time with the Boilermakers and Wildcats.

The Tucson, Ariz., native made the move to the Sunshine State following her collegiate career where she has spent two summers as the head coach of the Bradenton Slice of the Florida Gulf Coast League, and one season as a graduate assistant at Jacksonville University.

During the 2022 season, Young helped the Ospreys to 42 wins, which shares a D-I era program-best mark, as well as an appearance in the ASUN Championship title game. UNF also had two First Team All-ASUN selections and one Second Team All-ASUN selection.

In the summer of 2021, she had the honor of playing exhibition games against Team Canada, Team Mexico and the USSSA Pride.

Young helped guide the Slice to a 13-8 mark in its first season during 2020. Bradenton made a run to the semifinals in 2021 before being ousted by the eventual champs.
