
Castaldi Propels Women's Golf To Top Team Placement On Day One Of ASUN Championship

DOTHAN, Ala. – Junior Brianna Castaldi tied the ASUN Championship record for an opening round score with a 5-under 67 to propel North Florida Women's Golf to an 11-stroke lead after Round 1 at the 2026 ASUN Championship at Dothan Country Club in Dothan, Ala. on Friday.Â

North Florida stands atop the team leaderboard at 10-under, which marked its best team round of the season.Â

Castaldi posted a field-best seven birdies in Round 1 to sit in first on the individual leaderboard. She was followed by freshman Ava Cottis who carded six birdies and a 3-under 69 to sit in second, and redshirt junior Kaitlyn Schroeder at 2-under 70 in third.Â

The rounds for Castaldi and Cottis marked their career-best 18-hole scores. Sophomore Braydn Smith rounded out four Ospreys in the top-five at even-par 72 to place tied for fifth.Â
