
Women's Golf Sets ASUN Championship Record For Lowest Round Score

DOTHAN, Ala. – North Florida Women's Golf set an ASUN Championship record for the lowest team round score with an 18-under 270 in Round 2 at the 2026 ASUN Championship at Dothan Country Club in Dothan, Ala. on Saturday.Â

North Florida stands atop the team leaderboard at 28-under with a 28-stroke lead entering the final round on Sunday.Â

Sophomore Braydn Smith posted the best round of the field, her career-best 18-hole score and the second lowest round score in championship history with a 7-under 65. Smith totaled seven birdies and an eagle to propel her to the career-best total and move into second place on the individual leaderboard at 7-under 137.

Junior Brianna Castaldi carded a 5-under 67 for the second-straight round to remain in first place on the leaderboard at 10-under 134 through two rounds. After an even-par on the front nine, Castaldi tallied four birdies and an eagle on the back nine. Castaldi enters the final day with a three-stroke lead on the field.Â

Junior Mohea Mansbendel notched a 4-under 68 in Round 2 to move up 10 spots into the top-10 of the leaderboard in a tie for seventh at 2-under 142. Redshirt junior Kaitlyn Schroeder rounded out the four Ospreys under-par in Round 2 with a 2-under 70 for the second-straight round. She stands at 4-under 140 and tied for fourth on the leaderboard.

Freshman Ava Cottis rounds out all five Ospreys in the top-10 of the leaderboard with an even-par 144 through two rounds.Â

North Florida leads the field with a 3.96 average and a 4-under score on Par 4's and a 4.42 average and a 21-under score on Par 5's. North Florida also leads the field with 41 birdies, 11 more than the next highest total, and three eagles.Â
