Women's Tennis Dominates Eastern Michigan To Remain Undefeated

JACKSONVILLE. Fla. – North Florida Women's Tennis improved on its undefeated mark, moving to 13-0 this season with a win over Eastern Michigan, 6-1, at UNF Tennis Complex on Wednesday.
North Florida got off to a strong start in doubles action. Freshman May Fadida and sophomore Aryana Bartlett earned a win on court three, 6-4. Senior Laurie Barendse and graduate Isabel Oliveira clinched the doubles point for UNF with a win at one, 6-4.
In singles, Barendse, Bartlett, Oliveira, Fadida and sophomore Gabby Goyins all took first-set victories on their respective courts. Fadida improved to 10-1 this season with a quick win at four, 6-1, 6-1. Goyins was dominant in singles play as well en route to a win on court 5, 6-0, 6-1.Â
Oliveira clinched the match for North Florida with a win at two, 6-2, 6-1. Barendse extended North Florida's lead to 50 with a victory at one, 6-3, 6-2. Barendse is now 9-3 in singles this season.
Bartlett added UNF's fifth singles win of the day at three, 6-2, 6-4.Â
