JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Baseball dropped its midweek game against Bethune-Cookman, 7-4, at Harmon Stadium on Tuesday.

Junior outfielder Gialdri Gomez notched his third multi-hit game in his last four outings. Gomez went 2-4 with two RBI and one walk against BCU.

Bethune-Cookman opened the scoring with two runs in the fourth inning and three in the fifth. However, North Florida showed immense fight to cut its deficit to just one.

Gomez drove in North Florida's first run of the game in the bottom of the sixth frame with a single to shortstop. North Florida's biggest inning at the dish came in the bottom of the seventh to bring it within one run of BCU.

Redshirt sophomore outfielder Carter White crushed an RBI triple off the wall in right field to plate senior Santiago Ordonez who reached on a walk. White crossed home from third base on a fielding error by Bethune-Cookman. North Florida scored its final run of the inning on Gomez' second single to shrink BCU's advantage to 5-4.

Bethune-Cookman responded with two runs in the eighth frame, bringing the score to its eventual final.
