
Stinson Posts ASUN-High 23 Points, Women's Basketball Drops Back-And-Forth Contest at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – North Florida Women's Basketball dropped a back-and-forth road contest to Lipscomb, 73-65, Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore guard Jamisyn Stinson led all scorers with an ASUN-high 23 points on 8-15 from the field and 6-12 from three in 29 minutes. The 23 points also matched her career-high after she previously scored 23 points at UNC Asheville on Dec. 6, 2025. Stinson has contributed at least 15 points in five-straight contests.Â
Redshirt sophomore guard Alexa Washington tacked on 15 points and six rebounds on 5-8 from the floor, 3-6 from three and 2-2 from the charity stripe in 34 minutes. It marked her sixth ASUN game and 15th career game in double figures.
After a 14-0 run from Lipscomb to begin the game, North Florida would draw within five points, 19-14, at the 3:17 mark of the first quarter sparked by nine points from Stinson. She would score 12 or UNF's 17 first quarter points. Lipscomb led 21-17 after the first quarter of play.
To begin the second quarter, Stinson would hit another three to cut the deficit to one, 21-20. 15 of UNF's first 20 points would come from Stinson. She started 5-5 from field and 4-4 from three to begin the contest.
The Ospreys used an 8-0 run to take a 30-29 lead at the 4:42 mark of the second quarter with two threes from Washington during that run. A Stinson three would make it an 11-0 run to make the score 33-29. Lipscomb would reclaim the lead, before a Georgi Buzzetti layup and a corner three from Jamison Cardwell made the score 40-40 at the half.
Stinson led all scorers with 18 points on 6-7 from the floor and 5-6 from three in the first half of play. UNF shot 50% from the field and 60% from three in the first half of action.
An 8-0 Osprey run with threes from Washington and Stinson would give North Florida a 48-40 lead to begin the third quarter. The Bisons responded with a 7-0 run of their own. North Florida clung to a one-point lead at the third quarter media timeout. The score was even at 55-55 headed into the fourth quarter of action.
Lipscomb used a 7-0 run to take a 62-57 lead at the 7:37 mark of fourth quarter. A made layup from Waldon would even the contest at 65-65 at the 4:35 mark of the fourth quarter.Â
In a game that featured six lead changes and seven ties, Lipscomb would retake the lead for the final time with a made jumper at the 4:19 mark of the fourth quarter.Â
UNF outscored its opponent in points off turnovers, 18-14, second chance points, 9-4 and bench points, 18-2.
North Florida returns to UNF Arena to take on Stetson on Thursday, Feb. 5. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
