
Oriol Named ASUN Player Of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men's Basketball senior guard Kamrin Oriol was named ASUN Player of the Week on Monday.Â

Oriol averaged 32.5 points, 9.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds on 64.7 percent from the field, 46.2 percent from three and 93.8 percent from the free-throw line in 40.0 minutes per game in the two conference wins for North Florida last week. It marked the second time this season and second time in his career that he has earned the weekly conference honor.Â

Oriol turned in a career-high 33 points and career-high 15 assists on 10-15 from the field, 3-7 from three and 10-11 from the free-throw line in 42 minutes in an 117-114 overtime win against Bellarmine on Jan. 24. He is the only player in the nation with 30 or more points and 15 or more assists in a game this season. Oriol scored 10 points and drained the go-ahead shot in overtime to seal the win against the Knights.

The 15 assists in a single-game were tied for sixth most in the nation and are the second most in a single-game in program history.Â

Oriol hit the game winner with 2.2 seconds left and turned in 32 points – his career-high points total at the time – three rebounds and three assists on 12-19 from the field, 3-6 from three and 5-5 from the free-throw line in 38 minutes in an 87-85 win over Eastern Kentucky on Jan. 22.Â

It marked the first stretch of back-to-back games with 30 or more points for North Florida since Chaz Lanier in 2023-24. Oriol has scored 30 or more points in three games this season.Â

North Florida continues its four-game homestand when it hosts Stetson on Jan. 29 and Lipscomb on Jan. 31 at UNF Arena.
