
Jackson's Career-High 35 Points Propels Men's Basketball Past North Alabama, 105-91

FLORENCE, Ala. – Sophomore guard Kent Jackson posted a career-high 35 points to propel North Florida Men's Basketball past North Alabama,105-91, at CB&S Bank Arena at Flowers Hall on Thursday night.Â

The 105 points scored are the most in a non-overtime ASUN game since North Florida scored 109 points against USC Upstate on Feb. 15, 2018.Â

Jackson turned in the career-high point total on 10-16 from the field, 8-13 from three and 7-7 from the free-throw line, in addition to six rebounds in 35 minutes. It marked the third game this season with 20 or more points for Jackson. The 35 points tied the most since Chaz Lanier scored 35 points against North Alabama on Feb. 8, 2024.Â

Senior guard Kamrin Oriol added 21 points on 8-18 from the field and 5-11 from three, in addition to eight assists and three rebounds in 40 minutes. Freshman guard/forward BJ Plummer posted 13 points, while graduate student guard/forward Dalton Gayman and graduate student forward Nestor Dyachok each turned in 12 points to round out five Ospreys in double figures.Â

After Dyachok took a charge on the initial possession then Jackson drained a three to get the scoring started for North Florida. North Florida connected on 3-5 from three to secure a 9-4 lead at the under-16-minute media timeout in the first half.

Jackson scored 14 of North Florida's first 17 points on a 5-5 start from the field and 4-4 from three.Â

North Florida went on a 10-0 run to push the margin to 38-28 at the 4:40-minute mark of the first half. The Ospreys connected on 11 threes in the first half.Â

Jackson finished with 17 points on 6-10 from the field and 5-9 from three with six rebounds, while Oriol added 12 points on 4-7 from three in the first half. North Florida converted on 53 percent from the field and 46 percent from three in the first half. The first half featured five ties and two lead changes.

North Florida pushed its lead to 21 on a steal and slam from Plummer. North Florida led 79-63 at the under-eight-minute media timeout in the second half.Â

North Florida opened the largest lead of the game at 22, 76-54, at the 9:49-minute mark of the second half. The Ospreys outrebounded their hosts 33-32 and totaled 20 assists.Â
