DeLAND. Fla. - North Florida baseball dropped its first game of the ASUN Championship postseason tournament to top-seeded Austin Peay, 10-2, on Tuesday afternoon in Melching Field at Conrad Park.
Early in the competition,
Clay Hendry was able to get out of a bases-loaded jam in the first inning with a 6-4-3 double play ball.
Santiago Ordonez notched the first Osprey hit in the second with a double, but was left stranded.
Austin Peay started to score runs in the third frame with a pair of homers to push their lead to four runs. UNF had a chance to respond in the fourth with runners on first and second, but struck out to move on to the bottom half of the inning.
The Ospreys were able to put runs on the board courtesy of back-to-back RBI knocks from
Connor Moore and
Cade Bush to make it a 7-2 game. A couple extra runs from the Governors pushed APSU over the top in UNF's first game of the postseason.
