O'Gorman Headlines Four Medalists To Open 2025 ASUN Outdoor Track And Field Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida track and field collected four podium finishes to open the 2025 ASUN Outdoor Championships at Visit Jax Track in Hodges Stadium on Thursday night.

Sixth year Aidan O'Gorman headlined with a first-place finish in the men's 10,000m with a time of 30:22.39. On the heels of O'Gorman was senior Seth Martinez, who clocked in at 30:22.39 to place third overall. It marked back-to-back seasons that an Osprey has won the outdoor men's 10,000m at the conference meet.

Sophomore Nicole Shepherd starred on the women's side with a 1.69m bar to finish runner-up in the women's high jump. Sophomore Renske Drenten tied for third in the event with a personal-best bar of 1.64m to lock in a podium finish.

Other highlights from the preliminary races were both senior Celine D'Anna and sophomore Rey Hernandez earning the top times in their respective 400mH events. Sophomore Serenity Miller and junior Troy Williams also advanced to the 400mH finals, while freshmen Matthew Groves and William Owens qualified for the men's 200m finals. 

The men's team currently sits tied for second with 16 points, while the women are in fourth place with 23 points after the opening day of competition.
