JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida women's tennis ride a six-match winning streak into its conference showdown against Central Arkansas on Friday, Mar. 28, set for 12 p.m. ET, in Conway, Ark.
After starting the season with three straight losses against tough opponents, UNF has found its footing with wins in nine of their past 11 matches, including six in a row. This will only be the Ospreys' second road match since Feb. 26, as UNF took a 5-2 win at Eastern Kentucky in its only away win in the month of March.
Four different Osprey players have undefeated records in conference singles competition with at least three matches played. Aryana Bartlett leads with a 5-0 record, while Anslee Long, Jasmin Makela and Alisa Lyshko have combined for 11-0 across four matches. Laurie Barendse, who was awarded ASUN Player of the Week earlier this month, is also 4-1 on the top court against ASUN opponents this season.
During the six-match winning streak, UNF has swept three of the opponents, including two against Bellarmine and Queens in conference. The other three matches were each decided by a 5-2 score, as all victories have been by a margin of three or more points during that span.
The 10-time ASUN Tournament and seven-time ASUN Regular Season champion North Florida were tabbed to finish second in the 2025 ASUN Preseason Poll. The Ospreys are in their sixth season under two-time ASUN Coach of the Year Catherine Dunagan who has guided the Ospreys to three ASUN Regular Season titles, two ASUN Tournament titles, an NCAA Tournament win and the program's NCAA Tournament Singles and Doubles appearances.
Following the weekend's action, North Florida will return early next weekend against on Friday, Apr. 4, against Florida Gulf Coast, before senior day on Sunday, Apr. 6, against Stetson, at UNF Softball Complex.
