
Men's Golf Led By Schell To Wrap Up General Hackler Championship

MYRTLE BEACH S.C. - North Florida men's golf was led once again by sixth-year senior Brett Schell with his third consecutive round under par to place ninth at the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina on Tuesday afternoon.
The Ospreys had Schell execute his sixth career top-10 finish with a combined score of 5-under 211. His final round score of 3-under 69 is also the 16th time in his career he has notched a round in the 60s.
The Saint Augustine, Fla., native added his third score of eagle or better in the third round on the fourth hole, along with a trio of birdies. Danny Erickson also performed well for UNF to complete his week with his third-ever placement inside the top 25 at even-par for a share of 23rd overall.

- Schell finished the week with a top four par-three scoring average (1-under), a top six par-five scoring average (9-under) and top 10 in pars, while also leading the team with 36 total.
- He was also one of two players in the field to notch three eagles through three rounds this week.
- Erickson was the second Osprey in the top 25 bouncing back from this performance last week at The Hayt.
- The freshman wrapped up the final round with six total birdies including back-to-back to finish the tournament.
- Jason Duff had a solid finish of two birdies and three pars over the last six holes to go 7-over 223.
- Five birdies from Filippo Serra and three birdies from Adam Vermut was the final touches from the Osprey group on Tuesday.
- Justin Ross finished with the most birdies of any UNF player with a top-four tournament mark of 14 total after a stellar 1-over 217 unattached score on the week.
- The Ospreys vaulted into the top four for birdies by a team with 48 total, pairing it with its 146 total pars.
- They were also one of six teams in the tournament with at least three or more eagles.
