JACKSONVILLE - North Florida sixth-year senior Brett Schell had a fantastic showing at the World Golf Village Classic to be named ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Thursday.

In his second year at UNF and his first season playing for the Ospreys, Schell becomes the second weekly honoree for the team following Filippo Serra's debut award from his performance in Puerto Rico. In his performance, he also cracked the top-five in program history for lowest 36-hole tournament scores during his first medalist crown as an Osprey.

"It's great to see Brett [Schell] get the win this week," said Director of Golf Scott Schroeder. "I hope this will spring-board him to a great finish on the year."

Through 36 holes, Schell recorded back-to-back rounds under par, including a second round of 6-under 66, to card 8-over 136 in the tournament. His score was seven strokes better than the second overall finisher, as he helped the Ospreys to a team victory as well in Saint Augustine, Fla.

Schell and the Ospreys make a quick turnaround from their trip down to the Caribbean to compete in the Gator Invitational from Feb. 15-16 in Gainesville, Fla.
