Benning Recorded Win, Two Home Runs On Day
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - North Florida softball improved to 6-2 on the season and is now winners of four straight games after they secured a sweep in a doubleheader against Bethune Cookman on Wednesday evening. UNF defeated BCU 5-2 in Game 1, and 6-0 in Game 2, with sensational performances coming from utility player Allison Benning.

The Ospreys completed the sweep in Game 2 largely behind a solid outing on the mound from Macie Hunolt and a massive night at the plate from Benning who recorded two home runs and five RBI in the win. Benning's first homer came in the first inning on a three-run shot to center field followed by a two-run home run in the fifth frame that extended UNF's lead to 5-0.
Ashley Connor entered to pitch in relief of Hunolt in the bottom of the fifth inning and combined with Cameron Ponich to throw three shutout innings en route to victory.

Behind the Line Score
- Lauren Brock and Vogel led off the first inning with back-to-back singles before Benning blasted a three-run home run to center field in the ensuing at bat to give UNF 3-0 lead.
- North Florida extended its lead to 5-0 in the top of the fifth inning behind yet another Benning homer. This time around, it was a two-run shot to right field.
- In the top of the sixth frame, freshman outfielder Grace Shaw-Rocky singled to center with one out and fellow freshman Kennedy followed with a single of her own, putting two on.
- One at bat later, Amanada Aardema delivered a pinch-hit RBI single to left field that scored Shaw-Rocky from second and pushed North Florida's lead to 6-0
- Macie Hunolt was sensational on the mound. Hunolt dealt four scoreless innings without allowing a hit and tallied four strikeouts.
