TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Ashley Kirby broke the program record for the 100-yard breaststroke at the All Florida Invite hosted by Florida State on Friday, Oct. 24, at Morcom Aquatic Center.
Kirby placed third in the event by clocking a time of 1:02.39 to take down the individual school record. She dethrones current teammate, Victoria Torres, who set the mark at the 2024 CSCAA National Invitational Championship.
North Florida women's swimming picked up a team win in the quad meet against Florida Southern, 176.50-84.50, while also facing against Florida State and West Florida in an event that featured four schools from the state of Florida.
Kirby was one of four top-three times for the Ospreys, as Paige Munna placed third in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:01.12 and Kaley Daley earned the runner-up spot in the 100-yard butterfly at 55.15.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Torres, Abby Noga, Kendall Butler and Brooke Bourne ended the meet for UNF finishing second with a time of 1:34.63.
North Florida 176.50, Florida Southern 84.50
West Florida 156.00, North Florida 137.00
Florida State 234.50, North Florida 58.50
"We swam three very good teams today. There were many personal-best times and Ashley [Kirby] broke the school record in the 100 breaststroke. There were many teams that raced well and swam smart. We still need to clean up a few things and will be looking forward to continuing our racing tomorrow at home."
