JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Athletics announces its 904 Day fundraising effort for the 2024 year, an initiative directed at raising money for the student-athlete experience. This year, UNF Athletics is raising money to enhance the athletic training and weight room at Hodges Stadium.
Anyone that makes a donation of $90.40 or more will receive an exclusive North Florida Ospreys hat that can be picked up at the Ink Brewing Swoop Session IPA event from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. tomorrow. For those that aren't local, they will be shipped out beginning Monday, Sept. 9.
The inaugural 904 Day was back in 2020, with each year seeing increased fundraising success.
Â
The area code 904 covers a five-county region of Northeast Florida, including the counties of Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Nassau and Baker, and is the home for more than 50,000 UNF alumni.
Crowdfunding Statement
We're excited to announce the Empowering Strength, Elevating Recovery campaign to enhance the Athletic Training and Weight Room within Hodges Stadium. These areas/spaces are crucial to the growth of over 250 student-athletes who utilize these spaces daily throughout the entire year. The Athletic Training and Weight Room are more than twenty years old and now is the perfect time to upgrade these areas for the Division I experience for our student-athletes.
Strength & Conditioning Space
This important area for our student-athletes will be completely upgraded and enhanced, allowing us the opportunity to modernize this space from top to bottom. The support provided from this campaign will allow us to upgrade equipment, add state-of-the-art flooring to the entire space and continue to enhance our branding from floor to ceiling.
Athletic Training Room
This crucial space for our student-athletes is often one of the most important facilities on our campus. The Athletic Training room is often a safe place for our student-athletes to recover, rest, recharge and rehab as they prepare for their next opportunity and opponent. The support provided from this campaign will help to upgrade and enhance this space with the latest technology and recovery equipment needed for our student-athletes to successfully compete both on & off the field of competition.
More on "904 Weekend"
The "904 Weekend" campaign will run through a crowdfunding site providing the opportunity for gifts of various amounts along with the ability to allow for matching gifts. Last year, UNF Athletics set a record with 331 donors, who combined to contribute $28,893 towards improving the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence (SACE) study space.
