Ospreys Sweep Road Weekend Up North
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - North Florida women's tennis (10-9) secured its second victory of the weekend in a 4-3 thriller against Austin Peay (10-7) on Sunday afternoon.
The Ospreys continued where they left off against Bellarmine and dominated in doubles play after taking the early lead. In a back-and-forth battle in singles play, Amy Kaplan came in clutch to give UNF the 4-3 win over the Governors.
Doubles play started off hot for the Ospreys with a pair of early leads. Not long after Amy Kaplan and Alisa Lyshko claimed court one, Sofia Snitko and Jasmin Makela took court three to give the Ospreys the 1-0 team lead over the Governors.
It was a tightly knit contest during singles play, as every court would be needed to decide a winner. With the help of Lyshko and Anlsee Long, the score was tied at 3-3 to set up Kaplan for the final court win it for the Ospreys in the 4-3 victory.
Next up for the Ospreys, they will head back home to take on Eastern Kentucky on Friday, Apr. 12, at 10 a.m., at the UNF Tennis Complex.
