Men's Tennis Ready to Defend Undefeated Conference Mark at ASUN Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UNF men's tennis (12-8, 8-1 ASUN) will look to defend their ASUN regular season title and undefeated conference mark, as they await the winner of #4 North Alabama (15-7, 6-3 ASUN) and #5 Lipscomb (11-11, 5-4 ASUN) as the top overall seed in the semifinals of the ASUN Championship on Saturday, Apr. 20, at 5 p.m., in Fort Myers, Fla.

North Florida defeated North Alabama, 7-0, at the UNF Tennis Complex in their only matchup this season. UNF was set to play Lipscomb in a home contest, but the match was later canceled due to rain and travel conflicts.

The Lions ended their regular season with back-to-back wins over Austin Peay and Bellarmine.
Freshman Izan Orgiles finished with a singles record of 13-8, while going 5-0 from court four.
Sophomore Lachlan Brain finished the season on a five-match singles winning streak from court one.
The Lions bring in three players with ASUN Player of the Week honors this season.

About the Opponent - #5 Lipscomb Bison

The Bison ended their regular season on a three-match winning streak, grabbing wins over North Alabama, Bellarmine, and Austin Peay in that stretch.
Sophomore Facundo Perlov won his final five singles matches from regular season play and is 5-0 on the season from court six.
Doubles team of Matheus Lima and Henrique Ushizima went 10-3 on the season and have picked up a win from every line this season, as well as 9-1 in their last ten.
Fellow doubles team of Sebastian Dominguez and Krzysztof Wetoszka finished with an 11-6 record in doubles this season, while going 9-5 from line one.

NORTH FLORIDA NOTES

UNF is undefeated against both programs, going 6-0 against the Lions and a whopping 15-0 against the Bison.
This is the third straight season in which the Ospreys have qualified for the ASUN Championship semifinals.
Saturday's match will mark the team's 14th ASUN tournament appearance.
The Ospreys bring in five players who finished the season on career-long singles winning streaks.
They are Jonas Hartenstein (seven matches), Rodrigo Crespo (nine matches), Juan Pablo Cenoz (four matches), Andreas Scott (nine matches), and Breno Marques (seven matches).
