Roca Notches Nine Strikeouts, Runnels Records Three-Hit Day
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida (17-16, 7-8 ASUN) took the final game of the weekend series against Lipscomb (11-23, 7-8 ASUN) in narrow fashion, 6-5, to complete its seven-game home stretch on Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.
The Ospreys had another outstanding game from Jakob Runnels, who went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs after hitting two home runs on the game two on Saturday. He was a crucial piece of grabbing the series finale against the Bison in the one-run victory.
After being scoreless through the first three innings, Fletcher Cline turned in two runs for an RBI triple, followed with another RBI hit from Alex Rodriguez. A two-RBI hit from Runnels and a score off a fielding error, along with Tony Roca's stellar showing on the mound with nine strikeouts, secured the close win at home.
