Higgins Places Among Top Six To Complete The Hayt

Ospreys Finish Ninth Overall as a Team

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - Robbie Higgins finished as the top score for North Florida men's golf through all 54 holes to place with a share of sixth overall at The Hayt on Monday afternoon.

Higgins scored 3-over 75 in the final round to get to an even-par 216 combined score through three days of play. It's the third consecutive season that Higgins has finished in the top six on the player's leaderboard with third and fourth place finishes in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Higgins ended the final round on a high note with a birdie on the 18th hole to secure his even-par combined score.
  • The Bradenton, Fla., native finished as the only Osprey on the extended weekend to card in the 60s with his 3-under 69 score in the second round.
  • He also led the team in scoring for all three rounds, along with the most birdies with 12 total.
  • Gabrelcik started the day with birdie and finished even-par over the last nine holes to grab a top-20 placement.
  • The seniors tied for the most pars on the week for the Ospreys with 33 total each.
  • Jason Duff and Andrew Riley each had two birdies during the final day to post finishes outside the top 50 overall.
  • Filippo Serra rounded out the Osprey team field with 12 pars to earn 7-over 79 for his best round of the event.
  • Chase Carroll was the only other UNF player to reach double-digit birdies with 11 total during his 6-over 22 combined score to place just outside the top 25.
  • Davis Lee was the lone Osprey to notch an eagle with it coming in the final round during his even-par day for 35th overall.
  • Justin Ross joined Carroll and Lee as unattached individuals to finish at the home tournament with his final round score of 9-over 81.
  • UNF finished with 157 total pars and 39 total birdies, while having the fourth-best average for par-five holes (13-under).
  • Higgins and Lee were tied for the second-best individual averages for par-five holes (6-under) as well.

North Florida looks to rebound as soon as next week when they head up to South Carolina for their annual appearance in the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina from Mar. 18-20 in Conway, S.C.
