Ospreys Drop to 4-5 On Season
ORLANDO, Fla. - After a hard-fought battle against a Power Five squad, North Florida women's tennis (4-5) fell short to UCF (2-5), 4-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The Knights came out of the gates with a strong showing in doubles, giving them the early 1-0 lead against the Ospreys. In singles play, it was much of the same for the Knights, building upon their momentum and winning in straight sets to take the match.
Kendall Nash and Anslee Long were looking to improve their doubles record to 6-1 and were on the verge of a comeback, but were halted at 4-5 when the match was left unfinished. Sofia Snitko and Jasmin Makela fell short in doubles play, but put together a string of points.
With the match being played to clinch, three of the singles matches were left unfinished, as the sets dropped were in straight sets.Â
Next up on the slate for the Ospreys, they will return home to UNF Tennis Complex against St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 12 p.m.
