Junior Combined For 55 Points, 15 Rebounds in Road Trip Sweep
ATLANTA - Chaz Lanier continues to be one of the top players in the conference with his third selection of the season as the ASUN Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
"Chaz Lanier has always been about consistency – in his approach, his preparation, and his execution. You always know what you are getting because it's never a surprise," said head coach Matthew Driscoll. "Our team has so many parts, much like a body, and it all has special functions, which because of his constant approach to our program, has continued to shine."
"Chaz has been asked to do a lot, and the team respects that and embraces it, allowing awards like these to be presented," continues Driscoll. "Humbly, he handles all his business truly professional, and for that, we have been able to continue to fight for top seeding in a very difficult ASUN Conference."
Lanier becomes the fifth player in program history with three or more ASUN weekly awards. He also became the first player with three in the same season since Dallas Moore in the 2015-16 season.
The Nashville, Tenn., native led the Ospreys to back-to-back road wins this past weekend with 26 points and nine rebounds against Queens, as well as 29 points, six rebounds and a go-ahead and-one bucket to take down Kennesaw State.
The Ospreys return across town on Friday, Feb. 23, to face off against Jacksonville in the River City Rumble at 7 p.m.
